OUR
PEOPLE
At Harmon & Associates, we want our people to feel like a second family.
JAMES A. HARMON
Certified Public Accountant
Co-Owner
Chief of Operations/Senior Diretor
I earned my B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Montevallo in 1999 and achieved the
Certification of Public Accounting in 2006. Over the years I held employment in both the public and private sectors, from a staff accountant at firms to Controller at global for-profit and nonprofit entities. The U.S. economic upheaval in 2008 impacted the for-profit manufacturing corporation I was with at the time, and I was forced to make change in my career. With my family rallied behind me, I decided to utilize that moment to launch the career I had dreamed of since choosing my major in college, to build my own public accounting firm. As the years have passed, my firm has grown enough to allow me to provide favorable employment opportunities and environments to a diverse group of dedicated professionals and to give back to the community through both service and financial contributions. I am living my best life outside of the office as well, enjoying my family, our many pets, playing on an APA pool team and a community softball team, and listening to record albums I have collected for over 30 years.

WILL CORNELISON
Accountant
I am expecting to graduate with my B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Alabama at
Birmingham in 2021 and hope to achieve my Certification of Public Accounting by 2022.
I began working full time at the firm in 2019, before which I worked in management. I enjoy time with my girlfriend and our dogs, playing on an APA pool team, reading and watching fantasy and science fiction books, movies, and series, and working out.

I earned my B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Montevallo in 2002. I earned my M.Ed. in Education in 2008 and my M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2015, both also from UM. I like to work odd hours and to tackle a wide variety of tasks at work to keep my creative mind entertained. I value family, commitment, kindness, open-minds, genuineness, and honesty. I love spending time with my family and pets, helping and supporting people where I can, traveling, and learning new things.
